Baptisms for St. Joseph Parish Parishioners

Baptisms are held on a Saturday morning at 9am or on a Sunday afternoon at 1:45 pm.

The Parents are the ones who must call 210-227-0126 and speak with Bea Bailey to make the arrangements. Parents must present a copy of their Marriage Certificate if they were married in a Catholic Church by a Priest.

The Parents must choose God parents, who meet the following criteria:

1. It is preferred that the God parents be a married couple, who were married in a Catholic Church by a Priest. They must present a copy of their Marriage Certificate. They must also have all of their sacraments, such as Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. A copy of the Confirmation Certificate must be submitted.
2. If the God parents are NOT parishioners from St. Joseph Parish, they must present a Letter of Permission from their home parish.
3. God parents can be two people, who are not married, but must have all of their sacraments. (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) A copy of the Confirmation Certificate must be submitted.
4. God parents can be two people, male and female, who are not married to each other. If each one of these two is married, they must be married in a Catholic Church by a Priest. A copy of the Marriage Certificate must be presented, along with a copy of their Confirmation Certificate.
