Depending on the weather, Mass may be celebrated tomorrow at noon. There's still no heat so we may hold it at the Mother of The Americas Center. Due to the unusual and very cold weather we're having, and the hardship it has caused so many, the Archbishop has granted dispensation from fasting and abstinence on Ash Wednesday, as well as the ability to receive ashes during weekend Masses. Please be safe and look out for each other. God bless all of you.
Annually, each parish of the Archdiocese of San Antonio is invited to honor a parishioner or a couple who shows in a special way the light of Christ through their devotion and service. Congratulations and God Bless Rafael and Norma Galdeano and their beautiful children!
Scammers use email or text messages to trick you. Phishing emails or texts may look like they’re from someone you know or trust. They'll try to steal your personal information, try to make you believe they need help, or even try to trick you into buying gift cards and then sending them images of the cards. Always double check the email address or phone number, and if you're not sure, reach out to the person you think it is by a different means. Red flags are if they ask you to keep it private/secret, to respond only to their email/text, or if they try to convince you you're getting money back (or a gift card). If you think you've been scammed, visit IdentityTheft.gov, ftc.gov/complaint; and forward emails to reportphishing@apwg.org, and texts to SPAM (7726).
Public Sunday Liturgy will resume the weekend of the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, May 23-24, 2020, and we will begin celebrating Public Daily Mass on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Please view the guidelines for attending Mass.
St. Joseph's Altar Society Clean up Anyone welcome to help volunteer and clean up the church. Please bring dust rags and friends! We need as much help as we can get!
"HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN AND IS SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER" 665 Christ's Ascension marks the definitive entrance of Jesus' humanity into God's heavenly domain, whence he will come again (cf. Acts 1:11); this humanity in the meantime hides him from the eyes of men (cf. Col 3:3).
